Blood Natured

My world was fairly normal, until I moved to Shadow Valley with my father. Then everything changed, including me....
As if finding out that fantasy creatures are real wasn't hard enough for Kat, then she finds out she is one, a half-vampire half-shape-shifter. Suddenly, she'd surrounded with shape-shifters, werewolves, and vampires. She is part of each society, and yet different from both. As she struggles to find her place in this strange world she finds herself in; while trying to figure out her feelings for Russ, the large handsome werewolf, and Nicholas, the charming and appealing vampire, and learning to control her new hunger; someone is shooting the shifters in the valley.

Blood Natured is the first story I finished, one I started three times. At first it was going to be more of a teen novel, set in high school in a valley where all manner of creatures lived in the open. I dismissed it about twenty pages in. When I restarted with Kat as an eighteen year old, it felt right.

Kat's story is a simple one and was a learning experience in my own writing skill. I enjoy reading this story, but am presently revising it to be republished in two years when my contract is up. I will not be changing the story; just adding detail, adjusting some characteristics, and making the writing style a little more 'grown up'.

The characters in this story are simple and not overly developed in my opinion, but that is one of the things I plan to fix. I love the men in this story. After writing several different stories, I have come to realize I have a thing for making my men tall and often with long hair.
